We’re no stranger to a few nicknames. For the last 27 years, we’ve answered to many variations of the Payroll Data Services name. Whether “Payroll Data” or “PDS,” we’ve welcomed the familiar ring of them all. However, this time is a little different. As you may have heard, we’ve said goodbye to the PDS name and introduced a fresh, new company name — B2E Solutions.
While getting used to a new name will take some time for everyone, trust us when we say there is a method to our madness. To shed some light on our decision, let’s take a look at the evolution of our company and the story behind what motivated us to take this exciting step.
Chapter 1: Where our Payroll Data story began
Our story began with an aspiring CPA, his overworked adding machine, and a handful of clients that were fed up with the inaccuracies and poor service they received from the national payroll providers out there. A true problem existed, and it seemed, a solution was nowhere to be found.
That was until 1993 when that same CPA, David Jensen, founded Payroll Data Services to provide these clients with the solution they were looking for. Clients needed accurate and reliable payroll, and his approach to address was simple: take the time to understand a client’s business and their needs, then give them the one-to-one service and an industry-leading technology to help them deliver.
Fast forward to today and that same approach is still central to everything we do — the extent of it is just more expansive. Over the years, what we offer our clients has grown and evolved significantly. Payroll is still a core offering in our full suite of solutions; that is not changing. But, as the needs of our clients have grown, so have our products and services. Today, our offering extends across the entire employee lifecycle with our people and our full-suite technology of Payroll, Time & Labor, Human Resources, and Talent Management solutions.
Looking at where we began and where we are today, it’s clear to see that the Payroll Data name no longer captures the full breadth of who we are and what we mean to our clients. So onward and upward we go to the next chapter in our story.
Chapter 2: The path to our new company name
Determining that we needed a new company name wasn’t a tough decision for us. We came to this conclusion awhile back. However, figuring out what our name should be wasn’t as clear. To aid in the process, we asked our clients and partners what they thought. We received tons of great suggestions (many of which we considered), but ultimately we resorted to some good old-fashioned soul searching.
During this self-discovery process, we thought long and hard about the value we provide to our clients. We realized there was something deeper at play than we originally considered. Our value is not just in the service and technology we provide. It’s in what that combination does for our clients — helping strengthen the connection that drives the trust between business and employee. Businesses need to connect with their employees to foster healthy, trusting, and engaged relationships. Our solutions, the people and the technology we provide, help them do just this. So now the question was: How can we capture this story in a new company name?
Chapter 3: Our new B2E Solutions name and how it tells our story
After careful consideration and a lot of brainstorming, we are proud to say we have a company name that captures both the extent and essence of our solutions. A spin on the classic B2B and B2C acronyms, our new B2E Solutions name speaks to the business-2-employee (or B2E) relationship that is so critical in today’s workplace. But more than that, it speaks to our role in helping businesses foster the trust that drives this relationship.
